Château de Chenonceau

We went to visit the castle of Chenonceau yesterday, it was beautiful! Here are a few shots of it. I can't believe how modern everything actually seems, the fabrics look a lot like those you see in the stores nowadays and they are from the 16th-17th century... can you believe it? And I really enjoyed how colorful everything is in there!

Sorry for some of the pictures being a bit blurry but, as you can guess, I had to take all my pictures without flash...

Kid's love...

This pattern is supposed to fit both valentine's and kids' stationery... what do you think? I like the simplicity of it :)

Revisiting an old friend...

You have already seen this pattern on my blog but something has changed... I have been playing around with colors on it and added a few stripes in the background, I think what came out is not bad at all, I like the toomuchery of pink and red... :)

I'm off to my boyfriend's now, 10 days "off" in a whole different world, which means less stress, more hanging out and spending time together and visiting places around Tours (the castles of the Loire Valley...) I have been waiting for this moment for a loooong time and I'm so happy to leave Paris today! But don't worry, I'll keep on working and blogging (I'm too busy to take a real holiday!)

My sweet weird flowers...

New flower pattern!
It looks kind of retro/vintage to me! Is it the colours? The rounded shapes maybe? Or just me looking a too much vintage lately...? Impossible! There's never enough vintage! I want to work on matching patterns for this one but for now I will just wish you all sweet dreams... Good night!

Tomato face!

This is how I looked like when I came back from jogging yesterday afternoon! no kidding! It is so warm here right now, feels like summer already, which made me think of this little tomato getting tanned (red) in the sun...
Though it will not last, the weekend will be colder and next week rainy... I know my blog is closer to a weather channel than anything else... but the weather affects my mood and work a lot! In case you didn't notice that already... As long as it's inspiring, I don't think it's a big problem, right?

The botanist and the storyteller...

I love flowers and I love to read, and listen to stories but it seams there is never enough time for the things you like so I spent some extra time on my hobbies by illustrating them... meanwhile experimenting cross hatch which I had never done and which I liked a lot because it gives an illustration extra deapth!
To a sunny week here in Paris (I might even find some extra time to read in the sun and watch how the beautiful flowers are starting to grow... spring is coming!!)

ps: don't forget to spend more time doing what you like...! :)

Can you hear the sound of spring?

I love this feeling of spring coming along from just around the corner, when you can hear, at almost all hours of the day, the little birds singing... it's such a joyful feeling!

Africanism

Ok so this is very different from what I used to post on this blog, it's not as childish as the patterns you're used to see here and it's inspired of african art with the goal to achieve something powerful with very simple shapes and colors. I couldn't imagine it was so much fun drawing with countles little triangles! But it's very amusing to see the image appear little by little (triangle!)... :) I like this style and I think more patterns of this kind might follow in the future! Don't hesitate to give me your opinion!
