Hide and seek...

The poster has been picked up and I will now be nervously waiting for the results during the upcoming weeks!

For now let's just enjoy all the funny sides of life, just like these kids playing hide and seek behind those funny elephant statues!

it's Feria time!

This is the print I'm sending out today to the poster contest in Bayonne, France. The posters have to illustrate the Feria de Bayonne (a week of traditional festivities in south-western France where everybody dresses in red & white, plays music, parties and has a lot of fun!) and the winner's poster will be chosen to illustrate all the communication about the Feria...! I am so willing to win!!! Please, everybody, send me good vibes and wish me luck! I will keep you updated if anything interesting happens! :)

Finally!

Finally my designs are available on acte-deco as stickers, wallpapers and more! I'm very excited to see them there and to know they will end up in new homes! :) (acte-deco is a french company but I think they do ship worldwide...!)

Freckle face for the flowerkid...

Some freckles for a funny look on his taned skin - that makes me badly long for summer... We had a few very nice days here in Paris, first lunch on the balcony this weekend, sitting in the sun! (it felt so good!) It's supposed to rain tomorrow... the happy days never last very long in march but let's hope this little face will stay taned and happy no matter what!

The flowerkid

I'm being very busy on the boring side of graphic design... But sometimes you have to do it so you can come back to the funny and bright side of illustration! Well, before starting this morning I had just enough time to create this little flowerkid, I would like to do more designs of that kind: plants with faces... (in stronger colours though, this one is a little pale) I think they're cute.

Lucky me!

...who came back home at noon to find a package in my mailbox... from South Africa! My beautiful Orla teatowel has arrived today! In the package there was also a little surprise from Heather: a very sweet note with a velvet heart sticker in it... and a supercute badge I didn't even notice at first (shame on me!), that's why there's no picture of it... but I promise I will take a nice one and show it to you!

This morning I wanted start with a flower pattern, after several trials and nothing good coming out I took a break and when I came back... tada! In the mood for seaside I was!... and this is what came out! Fishes and starfishes with funny faces... Matching patterns are on their way, I just need to sleep a little bit!

Here goes a preview of the style I might use on the whole pattern collection I will be working on for Atelier LZC's tradeshow in China...! It will include a lot of flower patterns, animals and probably human characters or dolls... The show is in April so there's still time but a lot of work too...! I'll post upcoming pattern so you can see how the collection grows...! enjoy! :)

Thank you Illustration Friday for choosing me as the pick of the week! :) I had never participated before and loved the experience! It's so much fun seeing all the different interpretations that can be made of a same theme!...

...making patterns of my "celebrate" illustration... and I think they turned out fine and cute! :) 

I had an appointment this morning at a parisian atelier, it turns out I will do a pattern collection for them. They sell the patterns freelance designers give them in different parts of the world as agents besides having their own designs! Of course I will post glimpses of the collection I will draw for them on my blog! In fact, these patterns and the IF illustration might be the first design of the collection...

illustration friday: celebrate

I once heard that each year in Sweden they have a party to celebrate the beginning of summer... This tree is meant to be a "beginning of spring-tree" and all its inhabitants are celebrating the end of winter and beginning of spring... :) 

Shouldn't we all have parties to celebrate the seasons...?
